A set of two Lily and Matilda books, written and illustrated by Jo Williamson. The stories are about her pet chickens. They used to get up to all sorts of mischief, and her stories always have an element of truth behind them.
Lily and Matilda used to live in Jo's garden in York, although they are no longer with Jo and have gone to live in hen heaven they are still very much apart of her life. In The Lost Tomato the hens find a tomato growing on a plant in the garden. They both want the tomato because chickens LOVE red things! But what happens?? Count the eggs along the bottom of the pages as you read along.
Matilda is clever but very greedy. One day she eats and eats and EATS. But oh dear, what happens next? Contains a page with advice on what to do if you think your chicken might be poorly. Jo's vet, Jackie, helped her write it.
These books have been self-published by Jo and were produced entirely in Yorkshire. They were even printed in York!
The books are aimed at children aged approximately 2 - 8 years old. It is in full colour throughout.
Both books contain 28 pages and are perfect bound (no nasty staples), with a nice shiny cover. Both books are 235mm x 235mm x 3mm in size.
